Divorced. Beheaded. Died. Divorced. Beheaded. Survived.
And as of May 22nd, they are LIVE as the Queens of Six finished previews and made their North American Premiere at the Chicago Shakespeare Theatre.
Six is the new musical arriving from London’s West End by Toby Marlow and Lucy Moss. The story reimagines the six wives of the notorious Henry XVII as a 21st century girl group. Backed by their band, The Ladies In Waiting, Catherine of Aragon, Anne Boleyn, Jane Seymour, Katherine Howard, and Catherine Parr are here to reclaim their crowning glory by telling their own sides of their tragic stories.
Directed by Lucy Moss and Jamie Armitage, the story is told by powerhouse performers; Adrianna Hicks (Aragon), Andrea Macasaet (Boleyn), Abby Mueller (Seymour), Samantha Pauly (Howard), and Anna Uzele (Parr), with Nicole Kyoung-Mi Lambert and Mallory Maedke rounding out the queendom as the alternates.
Six runs until June 30th at Chicago Shakespeare Theatre, but this tribute to pop music and women forgotten by history will be rocking Alberta’s Citadel Theatre from November 2nd-24th!
